Hair jewelry
Hair Jewels at Gallery 1603
New Shannonlee jewelry item for August are hair jewels! These are beads stringed onto the end of a bobby pin. There is a variety of beads in each set of four, so you can mix and match as you want. You can wear one or all four with any hair style. I like to leave the creativity of how to wear these accessories to the individual.
Why should you wear hair jewels? A person's hair really does make a statement. You might not think so, but it does. I have always had long hair (majority of my life), so I am capable of styling my hair in many ways. But how do I make my hair stand out better without it looking like the Bride of Frankenstein? Accessories, of course! Wearing a headband, bobby pin or barrette really makes your hair stand out more. People won't realize you are having a bad hair day when you have a hair accessory in your hair.
I just love hair accessories!

Jewelry at art gallery
Jewelry at Gallery 1603, Surf City, NJ
Gallery 1603 is truly "one of a kind" on LBI (Long Beach Island). There are so many creative artists' designs and work in there. As a local, it is hard to find an art gallery (and a store on the island) that has other items besides lighthouses, shell boxes and all of those touristy gifts. Don't get me wrong, I am a sucker when it comes to that stuff, especially when I am on vacation; but I think finding a place that has unique craftsmanship and art is so hard to come by. There are plenty of items for everyone there to take home as a souvenir, or simply to place in their home. There's paintings, clothing, purses, pottery, photography, jewelry (of course) and so much more. I just can't list them all. I recommend anyone to visit the gallery and browse through these creative pieces of work. If you have little ones, you might want to hold their hands. You don't want them to break, or damage the art. Yes, the oil on your hands can damage a painting. If you find something you like, excellent find!
How did my stuff get in the gallery?
My sister's friend stopped by her store this past spring and told her she was managing a gallery on the island (that is short for saying Long Beach Island, locals never say the whole thing aloud) and liked some of my jewelry pieces. I was thrilled to showcase more jewelry at another location. No, you won't find bridal jewelry there, but you will find some unique pieces that I like to call art. One of my favorite styles of jewelry is the blue shell set. It has strands of blue seed and glass beads, and pukka shell chips. I LOVE the color of blue, and this set reminds me of the Caribbean (it's the blue I guess).
Bridal Jewelry
Bridal Jewelry at Pearl Dress Shop, Manahawkin, NJ.
Pearl Dress Shop is a wonderful boutique for brides, bridesmaids, mother of bride (and groom), flower girls, prom, cocktail dresses, reunion, sweet sixteen and more. My sister owns the store, and is very helpful to all of her customers. She even gives them some great tips too. I'm amazed with the tips she gives them.
To go with any dress is accessories. The store has shoes, purses, shawls, Spanx, Hollywood Fashion tape, jewelry and many more.
The picture shown has some of the bridal jewelry I am showcasing at the store. I use a variety of pearls with my bridal jewelry. It looks classic with any dress. My favorite is the multi strand necklace shown in the picture. It has mother of pearl beads throughout the strands. I think it is perfect for the beach bride.
